"There's no PS3 version currently in production," a Valve spokesperson told CVG following rumors that EA was working on a PS3 edition of multiplayer shooter Left 4 Dead.

Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi previously told the site that the company was not a PS3 developer and that it was only developing the game for Xbox 360 and PC.

"Left 4 Dead doesn't have that guaranteed appeal yet - it's a new IP,” he said. “If Left 4 Dead is big, then we may see a PS3 version later, or if and when we do a sequel, people may be more interested in that."

Valve previously handled development duties on the PC and 360 versions of The Orange Box, while EA was responsible for the PS3 version.
