First up, VG247 reports that it actually "99 percent" will not turn up at next month's LA-based show, and is more likely to appear at Tokyo Game Show or Gamescom in Germany later in the year.
According to "multiple British sources", the new handheld will pack a powerful quad-core CPU (a four-core version of the eight-core Cell processor found at the heart of PS3). They say it'll also feature a touch screen along with the standard PlayStation button interface, two cameras (front and back) and "could" be 3G-enabled (for data over a phone network, like iPad).
Apparently, multiple PSP 2 games are in the works in UK right now, in preparation for the system to launch in 2011, as opposed to a supposed original plan to launch in 2010.
Sony is yet to respond to the rumours.
