Rare snaps up staff from UK rivals

Microsoft-owned Kinect Sports developer Rare has announced the appointments of four senior members of staff that have joined the Twycross-based studio from other UK developers.

In the past month, Andrew Dennison has joined as software director from Codemasters, where he had spent ten years as lead programmer. Jon Vincent has given up his audio director role at Ubisoft Reflections for the same position with Rare.

Danny Isaac, formerly studio manager at Relentless Software, is now a Rare executive producer, and Peter Ridgway, another former Codemasters employee, has been appointed technical art director.

In a press release, senior studio director Craig Duncan said: "Everyone at Rare welcomes the skills and input of some of the industry's most exciting people as we boost an already strong talent base with these latest hires.

"This is the latest step in Rare's continued evolution and we have plans to further augment our team over the coming months. As a firstparty Microsoft studio, our mission is to attract the brightest and best talent in the business; these four appointments demonstrate that we are well on our way to achieving this."
