Realtime Worlds, APB Closing Tomorrow?

Sources suggest the Dundee studio and its online multiplayer title are set to shut on Friday. Update: APB closure confirmed.

Update - APB closure confirmed: APB community officer Ben Bateman posted the following on the game's forum: "APB has been a fantastic journey, but unfortunately that journey has come to a premature end. Today we are sad to announce that despite everyone's best efforts to keep the service running; APB is coming to a close. It's been a pleasure working on APB and with all its players. Together we were building an absolutely amazing game, and for that, we thank you. You guys are awesome! From all of the Realtime World staff we thank you for your continued support. The servers are still up, so join the party and say goodbye!"

Original story: Realtime Worlds and its online multiplayer title All Points Bulletin are to close tomorrow, according to multiple sources close to the collapsed Dundee studio.

The news follows recent reports that an announcement regarding a buyout of the company - which went into administration in August - would be made this week.

A poster on APB’s European forums points out that the game no longer appears to be available via Steam, while another claims that the title was recently pulled from retail shelves.

Realtime Worlds was split up last week when it was announced that an anonymous American firm had bought its social game Project Myworld, leaving the company's Dundee studio, a US satellite office and the rights to APB up for grabs.
