Casual and skill gaming specialist King.com and developer Rebellion have been named as two of the UK’s fastest growing independent technology companies in 2008’s The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 league table.
Compiled by Oxford-based research and events company Fast Track and published in this weekend’s Sunday Times, Tech Track 100 lists Britain’s 100 fastest-growing private technology companies.
Founded in 2003, casual and skill gaming specialist King.com made No13 on the list. The London-based outfit, which develops games in-house and licenses popular television properties such as Deal or No Deal, has seen sales rocket 133 percent a year from £1.6m in 2004 to £20.3m in 2007, according to the company’s listing.
Oxford-based independent developer Rebellion made No83 on the list. Founded in 1992 by brothers Jason and Chris Kingsley, the Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem developer’s sales have grown 43 percent a year from £4.1m in 2005 to £11.8m in 2008.
