The Nintendo Wii has garnered its share of criticism for its lack of a hard drive, which limits the console's ability to download and store large pieces of information.
But USA Today reports that Rock Band 2 for Wii will offer downloadable song content and online modes nonetheless.
The article said publisher MTV Games confirmed that the Wii version will have song downloads and online multiplayer modes, two major features that were missing from the original Rock Band for Wii, but that were present in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.
Reps for developer Harmonix were not immediately available as of press time to confirm the report, but such Rock Band 2 Wii features were hinted at in early August this year.
The Wii has 512MB of standard storage, but an SD card slot allows for upgrades to several gigabytes of space.
The paper also said that PS2 version of Rock Band 2 will not have any online features.
seems like a lost cause, unless nintendo ever fixes the storage problem. My wii is largely collecting dust as RB2 exercises my 360 to its limit.
So are they going to stream the songs off the SD card? :O I'm sure the Wii could handle THAT much.
