A report in UK's The Guardian says that the Guerrilla Games-developed FPS has hit 1.1 million pre-orders in Europe. The game launches worldwide on February 27.
Consumer outlets are already logging in reviews for the game, which are averaging a score of 93 percent on Metacritic.
The timing of Killzone 2 could prove to be optimal, as Sony's fiscal year ends in March. The company has said it's "on track" to meet its PS3 hardware sales goal of 10 million units during the year, and if Killzone 2 proves to be as much of a hardware mover as Metal Gear Solid 4, Sony could finish out the year on a strong note.
