The suit, which was filed with the Tokyo District Court on June 16, demands compensation for unpaid wages, reports Kotaku.
The plaintiffs allege that Tecmo hasn't paid overtime since illegally placing its staff on a "flexible hours" working scheme four years ago.
The ‘Tecmo Labor Union’, which has been headed up by developer Hiroaki Ozawa since February, claims that employees have at times notched up more than 100 hours of unpaid overtime per month, and that Tecmo has created false documents and covered up accounting information to cover its tracks.
The news follows rumors that over three dozen Team Ninja employees are set to follow in the footsteps of boss Tomonobu Itagaki by leaving the developer and launching lawsuits against parent company Tecmo for unpaid bonuses.
