Sega has announced the first title in a new story-driven branch of developer Creative Assembly's Total War games.
Due for release in February 2010, Napoleon: Total War will keep the PC RTS franchise's 3D battles on land and sea, with a turn-based campaign split into three different story-driven campaigns focusing on the rise and fall of Napoleon Bonaparte through his most famous battles.
"In Napoleon: Total War you get to actually be Napoleon - to face the problems he faced, to win the battles he won, and to build the Empire he built,” said Mike Simpson, creative director at Creative Assembly. "However, the game allows you to step in the shoes of his opposing generals as well, allowing the player to rewrite history as they see fit."
The most recent Total War installment, Empire: Total War, was the bestselling PC title in the States during March. In the same month it also became the first PC exclusive title to top the UK all formats chart since October 2007.
