Trials HD and TMNT: Turtles In Time Re-Shelled were September’s top-selling titles on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network respectively.

RedLynx’s Trials HD, which has sold over 300,000 copies since releasing on August 12, took the top spot on the XBLA chart for four out of five weeks during the month.

New entry Zombie Apocalypse was a weekly best-seller towards the end of September, while Shadow Complex and Battlefield 1943 continued to enjoy strong sales.

New releases Bubble Bobble Neo, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3: Commander’s Challenge, Defense Grid, Sonic & Knuckles, Puzzle Bobble and The Warriors: Street Brawl also managed to crack the weekly top ten charts.

Having released on September 10, TMNT: Turtles In Time Re-Shelled was PSN’s best-selling game of the month.

Another new release, NBA 2K10: Draft Combine took second place ahead of Final Fantasy VII, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Fat Princess, while Zombie Apocalypse debuted in seventh.

Interesting that the top 2 PSN titles (multiplatform) barely crack the top ten XBLA releases. I doubt if a single PSN release broke the 100K sales barrier. Fat Princess didn't live up to all the pre-release hype. Sony needs to improve (and increase the total number of) their exclusive PSN catalog to differentiate itself more from the competition.

Not sure the comparison is fair. Turtles in Time for example came out a month earlier on XBLA so we're not really comparing like for like.

For what it's worth I think Fat Princess is an outstanding game and it's great to see it still selling months after its initial release.

How do you know that when you have no sales statistics?

Besides there are plenty of games that came out the PSN this year that warrant attention;

Flower
Noby Noby Boy
WIpeout HD (Expansion Pack)
Shatter
Fat Princess

Braid and Castle Crashes will also make their way over; and there is also a new game from the creators of SuperStarDust HD on the way.

The real issue is a marketing one; something Sony knows about and has addressed in firmware 3.0. Again I think you are totally making rubbish points and seem to want to comment on anything Sony related. I do not know what your motives are; but certainly they are not positive on first impressions.

The fact that Sony never releases PSN sales figures should be evidence enough. The only other barometer to go off of is leaderboards for those titles with online components and the PSN leaderboards for PSN games is always under 50K. To be fair, MS doesn't release sales figures for every release, but there are a few they had permission to share with and those numbers have been quite impressive.

I am sorry but that is not evidence at all. We know games do sell on the network and quite well; i.e. FF7 in the USA broke 100,000 within some two weeks. Going back to the original point; this years PSN line-up has probably been its best and it is hard to see where these experiences could be had elsewhere. I look forward to more good stuff (Blue Toad Murder Mystery Files, the new game from ThatGameCompany and the new shooter coming from the creators of SuperStarDust HD).

I'm surprised by Trials' performance. Nintendo must be a bit miffed since the game is essentially excitebike on steroids.
