Settlement forbids more Mojang Scrolls games

Mojang is forbidden from making any further games using the Scrolls name under the terms of the legal settlement reached with Bethesda last week.

Gamasutra reports that, while the settlement left the Minecraft studio free to release Scrolls, announced at GDC last year, with no change to its name, the developer relinquished all rights to the trademark to Bethesda parent company ZeniMax.

Bethesda first took action last August, arguing that Scrolls violated its Elder Scrolls trademark and that consumers would confuse it with the then-upcoming Skyrim. The settlement was announced last week, with Mojang MD Carl Manneh proclaiming his studio and the Skyrim developer to be "friends again."
