Silicon Knights has‭ ‬hired Michael Mays as company’s new‭ ‬vice‭ ‬president.

‭“‬Mays will work closely with‭ ‬president Denis Dyack to drive the company forward by fostering continual growth for Silicon Knights,‭” ‬read a company statement.‭ ‬Mays has spent close to‭ ‬20‭ ‬years working in the financial sector in businesses across‭ ‬Canada and the‭ ‬US.‭

“Michael's arrival at Silicon Knights marks a step forward in the development of our business,‭” ‬says‭ ‬Silicon Knights company president‭ ‬Denis Dyack.‭ “‬His keen business acumen and financial knowhow makes him the perfect leader for us and for working with the‭ ‬Ontario government to help build the video game industry presence in the Niagara Region and‭ ‬Ontario."

Oddly enough,‭ ‬one of Mays’s first duties as vice president was to award certain‭  ‬members of the Silicon Knights team with genuine,‭ ‬battle-ready,‭ ‬ornate swords.‭ ‬The Ontario-based developer has a company tradition of handing the swords to team members who have worked there for ten years.‭ ‬This year,‭ ‬nine people were awarded the swords,‭ ‬taking the developer's total to nineteen.‭
