Sony "Likely" to Release PS3 Platinum Range

According to IGN the Japanese PS3 budget lineup, dubbed "PlayStation 3 the Best," will initially include Resistance: Fall of Man, Ridge Racer 7, FolksSoul, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Gundam: Target in Sight.

 

The greatest hits range will reportedly go on sale on March 19, with titles retailing for 3,800 yen each (around $35), although this has yet to be officially confirmed by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan.

 

A Sony Computer Entertainment Europe spokesperson said in relation to Japan’s budget range of PS3 games that the platform holder wouldn’t "comment on rumor and speculation”. However, the spokesperson added that it is likely that a Platinum range of PS3 titles will hit the European market at some point.

 

“We have introduced a Platinum range of best selling titles for all of our platforms to date, and it is likely that we will do so in the future for PS3. However, no decisions have yet been made on timing or lineup.”

 

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has confirmed that, starting March 19, Japan will see a budge PS3 range called "PlayStation 3 the Best." Games will include Folkore, Resistance, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Mobile Suit Gundam: Target in Sight and Ridge Racer 7, which will each retail for 3,619 yen.
