Electronic Arts has made no secret that it wants more game-to-movie crossovers.

Last month, the company signed a deal with top Hollywood talent and literary agency United Talent Agency.

Now, Sims-man Will Wright has told Reuters that EA intends on licensing his hotly-anticipated Spore to other entertainment sectors.

"With Spore, we're looking way outside the game space, such as TV, movies, etc. We're basically planting the seeds to spread Spore out to a much wider group of people than would ever play a computer game," he told the publication.

Spore revolves around evolutionary concepts, and has players raising a single-celled organism to a space-faring civilization.

EA is already working on turning another Wright creation, The Sims, into a movie. The script is in development at 20th Century Fox.

In addition, the youth-oriented MySims is slated to become an animated TV series.

"We're going to be much more intelligent about harvesting other market opportunities for Spore than we were with The Sims, which as big as it was in the game space, pretty much remains in the game space," Wright said.

"Longer term, I think the brand of Spore potentially has a wider net to cast than The Sims did."
