Square Enix Sued Over Hidden Final Fantasy Fees

Plaintiff claims the publisher "lied about or concealed" monthly fees and penalties that should have been fully disclosed at points of purchase.

Square Enix is being sued for allegedly deceiving 100,000 Final Fantasy XI customers by concealing fees and penalties.

The lawsuit alleges that the publisher "lied about or concealed its monthly fees, penalties for late payments, interest, restrictions and other things that should have been fully disclosed at points of purchase," reports the Courthouse News Service.

The plaintiff is seeking $5 million in damages for alleged unfair business practices, false advertising and unjust enrichment.
