Capcom has confirmed that the long wait for the Euro PS3 version of Street Fighter HD is finally over.
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix will be released on the Playstation Store this Thursday, Feb 19, a day before the UK release of Street Fighter IV. The game will be priced at £11.99 .
The announcement marks the final chapter in an ongoing struggle Capcom has faced with getting the title released. Street Fighter HD was launched on the Xbox 360 late in November, while European Playstation 3 owners have been waiting for their edition since.
Reasons on why the game had struggled to pass SCEE’s submission process have never been officially confirmed. Capcom elaborated on the title’s release back in December and was confident the game would be released “Q1”.
Capcom told Edge late in January that it did not fear a contemporaneous release would cannibalise sales of either Street Fighter title, stating that “both are different games at different price points," and was "sure Street Fighter fans consider the games to be different experiences.”
LOL.. better late than never :P
Don't blame SCEE for having high standards. This is Capcom and SCEAs fault. If SCEA are happy to release a buggy game (SOCOM anyone) but SCEE are not, who's at fault?
So is the SCEA release of this game buggy?
What an absolute shambles. Shame on you Sony Europe.
If it wasn't for the dreadful D-pad on the 360 controller, MS would have had my cash for this one long ago.
I would have liked to have purchased this, but I'm not connected to the internet with my PS3 and there is no other way of getting it as far as I know. It does seem alittle strange releasing them together though, but I do agree, they are two different games.
I feel bad for our European brothers, they get shafted all the time. Honestly if I was in Europe, I would see no point what-so-ever to get Turbo HD when IV will be released the very next day.
