Capcom’s John Diamonon spoke yesterday of Street Fighter HD’s record-breaking debut-week sales for a digital release, yet the publisher still cannot confirm when the title – which launched late in November – will be released for the PS3 in Europe.

Edge understands that all indications point to a Q1 release for the title, perhaps earlier in that time window. “There are reasons why we can’t always release games when we want to, but we are working hard on getting the game out as soon as possible,” a Capcom spokesperson explained.

Capcom and SCEE will now have additional considerations to make, as the potential thunder-steal of the Street Fighter IV release is set for Feb 20 in Europe.

Super Street Fighter II HD Remix has now sold over 250,000 units to date, with Capcom claiming it is “on its way to becoming the highest grossing digital title ever”.

Another blip on SOnys radar however living in New Zealand you would be insane not to just get a virtual US credit and log into US PSN. I still don't understand online zoning. Is it because of DRM(Most likely) or different censorship regulations (or...)? It would be nice to know why these things happen. I can understand with physical releases but with online releases, plus this never happens on the Internet, you don't go onto Miniclip and get the Pal token net game, so why is it necessary for the US to get stuff before the rest of the Western world, do different rules apply to consoles.... No.

Its because SCEE's more through bug-checking threw the net code out. Obviously SCEE and Capcom won't say that because it shows SCEA/J up for releasing with dodgy code. A/J seem to have a release now/patch later mentality.

The waiting is on for Street Fighter IV now in the new year. Super Street Fighter II HD Remix hmm fan service more like, how about sending a few coin ops of the UK instead of games we've already got on other systems, I'm more that happy to pump in 10 or 20 quid into a coinop :D Personally I just broke out the Dreamcast and starting replaying the old fighters and the tragedy is there are better ones than Street Fighter 2 :)

What? The spokesperson said there's a reason for the delay without giving a reason?

That's rubbish. Got to love the simultaneous US/EU releases on XBLA and trial versions of every game.
