Capcom has finally revealed Western release dates for Street Fighter IV on consoles.
The game will launch on Xbox 360 and PS3 on February 17, 2009, and in Europe on February 20, 2009. Capcom is shipping both console versions simultaneously, according to the official Capcom-Unity blog.
The coin-op version of the game launched in Japan in July this year.
Capcom sr. director of communications and community Chris Kramer also told Edge that the "PC version of SFIV will follow after the release of the 360 and PS3 versions of the game. No official release date, as of yet."
Yes, definately can not wait for this one. Thank you for giving me something to look forward to in Q1 Capcom.
Looking forward to this game after such a great reception for the arcade version. It will be a great first quarter with this and resident evil 5. It will however require a new controller of some type because the xbox 360 design is next to useless for these types of games.
i hope capcom have plans to release street fighter controllers with six buttons on the front and a great d-button like streetfighter 15th anniversary controller that came out for the ps2 and xbox a few years back..if they dont then ps3 owners could always get a convertor that to enable them to use the ps2 streetfighter pad which you could pick up from ebay..as far as i know theres no kind of convertor for the 360 that lets you use original xbox controllers.
I wish there were a way you could use PS2/3 pads on the 360. I know there was a converter for the Xbox 1 that let you use PS2 controllers on it. I guess if there were converters for the 360 that let you use xbox 1 controllers, you could piggy back the two converters and use a PS2 controller on your 360 (which would be awesome for SFIV and SSF2HDR). Here's to hoping.
This is awesome news !!!
Been eagerly awaiting the Return of the Street Fighter for some time, and I don't mean the film..
I have been button bashing on the old Mame version in preperation...
Anybody know anywhere in the UK that has the coin op ?
