Take-Two COO Departs

Rep for GTA publisher tells Edge position will not be filled.

Take-Two's COO has left the publisher for "personal reasons," a rep for the company confirmed to Edge on Friday.

A regulatory filing this week revealed that Gary Dale's employment at the publisher would officially cease on April 15, 2009. Day-to-day responsibilities however would end immediately.

Dale, who before his position as COO at Take-Two worked at Capcom and Take-Two subsidiary Rockstar Games, had only been announced as Take-Two COO since mid-2008.

Take-Two corporate rep Alan Lewis said in a phone interview that "[Dale] was absolutely not terminated. He resigned his position for personal reasons."

The rep didn't say exactly what those reasons were.

With Dale's departure, Take-Two will not be refilling the COO position, Lewis said. "The company does not expect to fill the COO position, however his responsibilities have been absorbed by other senior members of our executive management team."
