App monetisation and distribution firm Tapjoy has released a publishing platform, logically titled Tapjoy Publishing, aimed at helping small developers.
Tapjoy allows mobile and social developers to add virtual currency and analytics mechanisms to apps for iOS, Android and Facebook. Tapjoy Publishing will help developers before and shortly after an app’s release by letting them use their monetisation tools and providing funding.
The firm boasts a network of over 200 million mobile consumers, and 100 million social gamers, and selected titles will be awarded monthly marketing credits to help reach a wide audience. Tapjoy will also share its targeted advertising technology to provide personalised app recommendations.
Tapjoy CEO Mihir Shah said the firm was “proud to support the growing category of global application developers and entrepreneurs who need help getting their apps out there but want to maintain ownership and creative control of their properties."
With publishing through Tapjoy costing anywhere from $30,000 to $500,000, Tapjoy Publishing will be well received by smaller mobile and social developers.
One of the first games to use the service is Facebook title Dawn Of The Dragons, from 5th Planet, who says that its use of Tapjoy Publishing has seen monthly active users rise by 40 per cent, generating record revenues in the process.
Developers can apply to the program through Tapjoy’s website.
