Tecmo Koei Europe Formed
Tecmo and Koei have officially formed Tecmo Koei Europe (TKE).
TKE says it will offer a new library of games to European audiences while continuing to develop existing franchises and titles. The first game released under the new TKE banner will be the PS3 version of Ninja Gaiden 2.
“This is a momentous occasion for both Koei and Tecmo,” said Will Curley, TKE’s VP of sales and marketing. “With some great quality titles coming from both sides, such as Undead Knight and Quantum Theory from Tecmo, and Warriors: Legends of Troy and Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll from Koei, TKE will quickly become one of the major players in the videogames industry.”
Koei and Tecmo merged to form Tecmo Koei Holdings in April 2009. The Japanese companies first announced plans to merge last September after Tecmo rejected a takeover proposal by Final Fantasy house Square Enix.
