The co-founders of Poland-based game company CD Projekt have been named Ernst & Young Entrepreneurs of the Year, the company announced Friday.

Co-founders Michal Kicinski and Marcin Iwinski will represent Poland in the worldwide final competition in Monte Carlo in June.

CD Projekt was founded in 1994, generating money from game distribution in Eastern and Central Europe. The company made its game development debut only last year, with CD Projekt RED's acclaimed PC RPG The Witcher, which has sold over 1 million copies.

According to CD Projekt, The Witcher took five years to develop at a budget of "over $11 million." The firm said total annual revenues amount to around $43 million.

The Witcher is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 in fall 2009, the company recently announced.

CD Projekt said the criteria for being named Entrepreneur of the Year are "resourcefulness, innovativeness, good management and the measure of worldwide success achieved by the company by offering products better than those offered by foreign competitors."
