THQ has confirmed a second outing for its Ultimate Fighting Championship title. First footage from the game will be shown at the 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards on December 12.
The awards will feature the first-ever gameplay footage from UFC Undisputed 2010, interspersed with commentary from big name UFC fighters. The footage will also be introduced by a special UFC guest, says the publisher and developer.
THQ named UFC Undisputed 2009 as a highly rated title in a recent financial release. “THQ is now operating as a more focused, more efficient company,” said THQ CEO Brian Farrell. "We continue to deliver highly rated hit titles such as UFC 2009 Undisputed and WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010.”
Great - let's organise a parade.
I believe the new version will have updated elbow physics. They intend to unveil the new menu background colour at E3.
There's a lot they can improve on for the next iteration of the game, mostly in modes and possibly adding more striking and grappling styles, while maintaining balance. And there was a lot of lost opportunities in the career mode as fair as presentation and context went.
I see the point you're making, but I don't think it will start to become more Madden like in its sequels until the third one, there is a lot that can be added to the initial game. As well, the last two weeks have been largely slow news weeks, so it's understandable that Edge has posted this as a standalone story.
Good comments. I must have been in a really bad mood when I wrote the first reply :). For what it's worth I thought last year's UFC was almost a terrific game - I would love them to tighten up the career mode and the shoddy menus with the next release.
