THQ has announced the resignation of executive vice president and chief financial officer Edward Zinser.

Effective immediately, Rasmus van der Colff will serve as interim CFO while the company searches for a long-term replacement, the firm announced Monday.

The publisher said that the resignation "is in no way related to the financial condition, results of operations or future prospects of THQ.”

Chairman, president and CEO Brian Farrell added, "THQ has a deep and experienced management team. We are confident in our position and remain focused on continued execution on our strategy for long-term growth."

Colff, who has more than 20 years of accounting and financial experience, joined THQ as vice president and controller in May 2007.
