Publisher THQ has signed the lease for a large Austin, Texas-based studio to house Vigil Games.

The developer, which was acquired by the publisher in 2006, is currently working on Darksiders, a PS3 and Xbox 360 action title scheduled for release in January 2010, and a MMO game based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe that is “expected to be released in a few years.”

"THQ has signed a lease for 33,000 square feet in the Four Points Centre to house its Vigil Games development studio,” the company said in a statement to Kotaku. “We are very excited about the strong development talent at Vigil Games and we view Austin as a great location to attract employees engaged in videogame development."
