PVR outfit TiVo is extending its service to offer users the ability to store TV programming on Sony PSP and Apple iPod. Tivo-To-Go for PSP and iPod will launch in January, without
official endorsement from Apple or Sony. The service will be in direct
competition with the likes of iTunes, which charges for video content
on a per-download basis.
TiVo is under increased competition from digital cable operators, which
are bundling PVRs with their service. The company's
strategy has been to incorporate extra features in its offerings.
