Australian developer Transmission Games has reportedly closed following recent financial troubles.

Earlier this month, the CEO of the Melbourne-based studio told us that 28 members of staff had been let go to reduce “operating costs to ensure the long term health and viability” of the company.

Kotaku reports that the studio went into liquidation this morning and that an administrator has been appointed.

Transmission Games was founded in 1996 and previously went under the name IR Gurus. It was recently responsible for Ubisoft’s flight combat game Heroes Over Europe and Codemasters’ UK chart topping Ashes Cricket 2009, and had two unannounced games in development.

We’ve contacted Transmission Games for comment.
