Trials HD Passes One Million Sales

Trials HD has surpassed one million sales since launching on August 12, 2009 on Xbox Live Arcade.

Trials HD has surpassed one million sales since launching on August 12, 2009 on Xbox Live Arcade.

Named the Best Overall Arcade Game of last by members of the Xbox Live community, the title sold over 300,000 copies in its first month of availability, helping small Finnish developer RedLynx record “its most successful year ever”. The one million sales figure doesn’t include sales of the game's first expansion pack, Trials HD – Big Pack.

"Only a handful of downloadable console games have reached this plateau," said RedLynx CEO Tero Virtala. "For a company of about thirty-five people, it's a significant achievement, and it validates our strategy of focusing on online and downloadable games that have the potential to evolve into long-term, successful game franchises."

Trials HD is thought to have generated $4.4 million in revenues in the first six months of 2010 – second only to Toy Soldiers – contributing to a healthy first half of the year for Microsoft’s online games platform.

Featuring 40 new tracks, including ten created by some of the game's most dedicated fans, the title's second expansion pack, Trials HD – Big Thrills, is targeted for a fourth quarter release this year.

"Congratulations to RedLynx for creating such a beloved, fun game that powerfully showcases the Arcade experience," said Scott Austin, Microsoft’s director of digitally distributed games. "We look forward to bringing more Trials HD content to the Xbox Live community with the upcoming release of Big Thrills."
