Ubisoft axes Rainbow 6 leads

Ubisoft has confirmed that the creative director on upcoming tactical shooter Rainbow 6: Patriots has been removed from the project.

The publisher has confirmed to Game Informer that David Sears has been axed and replaced by Jean-Sebastien Decant, adding: "The development team is still hard at work to deliver the next installment of the revered Tom Clancy series, and more details on the game will be revealed at a later date."

Sources have claimed that Ubisoft has gone much further than that, with narrative director Richard Rouse III, lead designer Philippe Therien, and animation director Brent George all taken off the project.

Announced in November, Patriots is in development at Ubisoft Montreal and is slated for release in 2013, with the publisher promising "an exiciting new narrative direction" for the series.
