Ubisoft has announced that it's discounting the Splinter Cell: Conviction Collector's Edition in North America because of defective USB drives.
The publisher's knocking $10 off the suggested $80 retail price in the States after "random sampling" of the premium packs revealed that many of the included USB drives carry defects.
The USB drives are intended to include a "making of" video, wallpapers and concept art from the Tom Clancy game, reports GameSpot.
Details on how to receive the bonus content if your drive is faulty will be available on the game's official website on Thursday, April 15, Ubisoft said.
A company spokesperson emphasised that not all USB drives included in the Collector's Edition are defective, but declined to say what percentage would not work properly.
