UFC 2009, NBA 2K10 Pass Milestones

THQís Ultimate Fighting Championship title ships over 3.5 million copies, while Take Twoís basketball game clears two million sales.

THQ’s UFC 2009 Undisputed and Take-Two’s NBA 2K10 have both passed significant milestones, the former having shipped over 3.5 million copies and the latter having cleared two million sales.

Ahead of the release of its fiscal 2010 third quarter results tomorrow evening, THQ said its debut UFC title has reached 'Platinum Hits' and 'Greatest Hits' status, meaning that it will now be made available at a reduced price for Xbox 360 and PS3.

"We are excited that so many fans around the world have helped us achieve these impressive milestones in our debut year," said UFC president Dana White. "UFC 2009 Undisputed opened the door for us to further share the UFC brand with videogame and fight fans around the world, and we cannot wait to return this spring with the release of UFC Undisputed 2010 on May 25, 2010.

Meanwhile, 2K Sports said today that sales of NBA 2K10 are up 60 per cent over the same time period last year for NBA 2K9.

“We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished this year with NBA 2K10, and this milestone is another fantastic reason to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the NBA 2K franchise,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “We would like to thank all of our loyal fans for their dedicated support and look forward to the continued success of this title.”
