THQ’s UFC 2009: Undisputed sold over one million copies in the US during May to top the monthly software chart, with the Xbox 360 version accounting for two thirds of sales.
Nintendo’s exercise title Wii Fit marginally outsold new rival EA Sports Active to take second place, while PS3 exclusive Infamous debuted in fifth.
“There are more new releases in this month's top ten list than we have seen for some time. As we mentioned last month, it's a great time to release new IP, illustrated by May's strong debuts of EA Sports Active and Sony's Infamous," said NPD analyst Anita Frazier.
"While there were some very strong new releases this month along with continued strong sales of evergreen games, this month's top ten games sold 2.6 million units combined, whereas last year the top ten sold 3.7 million units. Again this illustrates how tough the comparisons are to last year."
