UK Chart: FIFA Outscores Operation Flashpoint

EA’s FIFA 10 held the top spot on the UK all formats chart during the week ended October 10 despite a 64 per cent drop in sales.

Last week the publisher said that the footy game had become the fastest selling sports title ever, moving 1.7 million copies in its first week in Europe.

Codemasters’ Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising debuted in second place, with Chart-Track calling the tactical shooter the publisher’s biggest selling launch title to date.

Need for Speed: Shift jumped one spot to third, overtaking last week’s number two, Professor Layton And Pandora’s Box, while Wii Sports Resort was a non-mover in fifth.

Former chart topper Halo 3: ODST was down three to sixth, followed by Gran Turismo, which moved up five spots to seventh.

Nintendo’s Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii took eighth and ninth respectively, while Guitar Hero 5 rounded off the top ten.

Warner’s Scribblenauts was a new entry at 12, Lucasarts’ Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Republic Heroes debuted at 15, and Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days was new at 17.
