UK Snowfall Disrupts New DICE Game Unveiling

EA showing postponed as businesses and schools close under record levels of snowfall.

A new and unannounced console game from DICE was set to be unveiled in the UK yesterday, but record levels of snowfall have prompted EA to postpone the announcement.

In the past two days parts of the UK have seen its heaviest snowfalls in 18 years. The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings as more than 3,000 UK schools closed yesterday, with more expected today. Roads and rail lines have been heavily disrupted by the fall, and it is thought that over six million Britons didn’t turn up for work yesterday.

EA confirmed to VG247 that the weather had cancelled the publisher’s plans to unveil its “console-only DICE project”, though implied the game was not going to be a new Battlefield or Army of Two title. Late last week EA announced a new Need For Speed trio of games that the publisher hopes will breathe new life into the flagging franchise.
