Trade association UKIE has confirmed that it will publish its long-awaited PC digital sales chart for the first time in February.
In a press release, the trade body reveals that the chart, which was announced in 2010 and has been in closed beta for some time, has the support of the likes of Green Man Gaming and Get Games, and publishers including Disney Interactive, Sega, Square Enix and Warner Bros.
UKIE CEO Jo Twist said: "UKIE is committed to measuring the size of the digital games market and is delighted to announce that it will be launching a public beta of the UKIE PC download chart in February.
"Having this digital data alongside our UKIE games charts for boxed products will allow the game industry to lobby government even more effectively and allow our members to make informed and fact-based commercial decisions."
UKIE is still seeking input from developers and publishers, who need not be members of the association in order to contribute. Those that do submit data will be given access to more detailed figures than the public chart.
