The organisers of Game Developer Conference 2013 have revealed new Summit talks for the event from Jesse Schell, Giant Sparrow, Riot Games and Subset Games.
Schell Games founder Jesse Schell will deliver a session titled The Future Of Storytelling: How Medium Shapes Story that will explore the most appropriate story structures for today’s gaming technology, and what will fit best on tomorrow’s.
Giant Sparrow’s Ian Dallas will offer up a postmortem on the studio’s debut game called The Unfinished Swan: From Student Prototype To Commercial Game. The talk will look at the successes and failures of the project, what the team learned from their game education and why worked with Sony instead of staying independent.
Subset Games will also provide a post-mortem of their game, FTL: Faster Than Light, which will be delivered by Matthew Davis and Justin Ma. Their talk is called Designing Without A Pitch – FTL Postmortem
Finally, Riot Games’ Benjamin Seifert will discuss the tricky issue of thorough QA using the studio’s “three-pronged approach” for polishing League Of Legends, called It’s Raining New Content: Successful Rapid Test Iterations.
