Having laid off the majority of its staff after going into administration last month, Realtime opted to re-employ 23 of Project MyWorld’s original 60 strong team to continue work on the game after it attracted considerable interest from potential buyers.
That now appears to have been a wise move as Develop reports that the title, which combines social networking with traditional gaming genres, has been snapped up.
The fate of the staff currently developing the project remains unclear, as the site suggests that the new US owner may only be purchasing Project Myworld’s IP and game build. The title is said to be ‘not too far from passing final milestones’.
