Video on Demand Launches on PSP

Go!View lights up in the UK and Ireland, bringing subscription TV and movies on demand to PSP owners.

Sony and Sky have announced that Go!View, the PSP video-on-demand service, has gone live in the UK and Republic of Ireland. The companies had previously announced that the service would go live this summer.

According to a release made by Sony and Sky, starting Monday TV, movies and sports programming will be “regularly added” to the Go!View service. Currently, PSP owners who subscribe to the service will get the first month free when they sign up. Subscriptions take the form of three packages—comedy, sport, and entertainment—with bundle pricing being offered for users who subscribe to more than one.

Currently, a single package is priced at £5/month, with two packages going for £8 and three going for £10. A la carte downloads will also be offered starting at £1.50 for television episodes and £2.50 for movies.

Go!View’s broadcasting partners include Disney-ABC-ESPN Television, BBC Worldwide, Sony Pictures, NBC Universal, and National Geographic.
