“We’ve done our best to create the next great MMORP experience, but it’s the fans that will bring our world to life"

Mythic Entertainment has announced that the highly-anticipated MMORPG Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has gone gold.

Tens of thousands of PC gamers have already been participating in the closed beta of the fantasy title, which will open its servers on September 18, 2008.

“We’ve done our best to create the next great MMORP experience, but it’s the fans that will bring our world to life,” said Mark Jacobs, vice president at EA and general manager of Mythic. “The day of reckoning approaches and it’s going to be glorious! It’s time to go to WAR.”

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning was recently awarded “Best Online Game” at the Leipzig Games Convention.

On a less positive note, the International Game Developers Association has criticized Mythic for its decision to only credit developers currently employed at the studio, rather than the game's full development team.
