Nintendo is set to release a new version of the Wii Opera browser.
Version 2.0 will enable tab support, allowing users to hold six pages at once, as well as allow users to access their Wii mail posts without having to return to the Wii channel front page. The service will also undergo tweaks and trims for ease of use.
The browser is also said to be compatible with Nintendo’s new Wii Speak microphone, though details of its purpose are currently absent.
The 2.0 browser will replace its predecessor in the Wii Shop and continue to cost 500 Wii Points, though Wii owners who already have the service do not have to pay for the upgrade.
Just a hair shy of 6 years late, that would be pretty good, almost revolutionary.
Hopefully there will be an online chat function for registered Wii friends, that would be pretty good!
