Wii Guitars Recalled Due to Safety Concerns

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has initiated a recall of Rage Wireless Guitars after receiving a report that the peripheral had caused a burn injury to one of its users.

The wireless guitars, which were manufactured in China, are said to have defective circuit boards which can cause batteries to leak and burn the user. Consumers have been urged to return the peripherals to their retailers for a full refund.

Manufacturer Performance Designed Products estimates that 57,000 units have already been sold.

China has grown a bad reputation for manufacturing standards. Back in August 2007 toy giant Mattel had to recall over 18m made-in-China toys that had traces of lead in their paint.

Y'know, they got these little amplifiers you plug into real guitars that allows the guitar to be heard through a set of headphones that might work. I think they run on a 9v battery.

The real music industry has all kind of cool little gadgets for that kind of stuff.

What's up with the plastic, i thought we were suppose to be going green?

Being a heavy importer of chinese products there is nothing Green that comes out of China. There number one priority in my experiance is Profit above all else. Even safty is second in there economy. Even state side here being green is very low on the priority table, especialy in these hard economic times. Not to say that there are some companys that do put it as a higher priority.
