Nintendo has dropped the 500 Wii Points fee (around £3.50) previously required to download the Wii Internet Channel.
The company also announced plans to reimburse those who previously paid for the service with a free NES title to be launched in late October via the Wii’s Virtual Console.
The Wii’s Internet Channel uses the Opera browser, which supports Adobe Flash and JavaScript and is compatible with widely used online entertainment portals such as the BBC iPlayer and YouTube. Business statistics group Market Share said in January that 0.01 per cent of internet traffic is delivered through Nintendo's machine.
Anyone know if Hulu.com is compatible with the Wii's browser? It would be really nice if it is.
Nintendo's not going to charge anymore to enter their micro-transaction store?
Gee, Thanks.....I think?
Internet channel != shopping channel
You're thinking of the Wii shopping channel, that was free anyway I think.
Really?
That makes this news better. Sorry, I don't have a Wii.
