The latest downloadable multiplayer map pack for Call of Duty World at War has been downloaded over a million times.

Publisher Activision has announced that the figure has also been reached in the space of a weekend. The pack was first released on Thursday March 19, with Activision declaring that the one million downloads had been amassed in the four days (or “weekend”) ending Sunday 22 March.

“The success of Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 speaks to Treyarch and Activision's ability to provide fans with quality content during a time when people want to get the most out of their Call of Duty experience,” says Maria Stipp, Activision's Executive Vice President and General Manager of Owned Properties.

The DLC pack contains four extra multiplayer maps and is currently priced on PSN at $9.99 in North America, £7.99 in the UK. The Xbox 360 version costs 800 Microsoft Points.

IMO COD5 is pretty good, but simply not as addictive as COD4.

I agree we should be seeing more map packs for Modern Warfare, but it looks like we're getting a full sequel instead.

there needs to be more focus on extra content with these games since they act to build loyalty with gamers.

I'm still waiting for a Crackdown enhancement.

i agree with Smartrich's comment about more DLC for COD4....
i think with EVERY game companies bring they shoudl have DLC to bring out after a couple of months of release! its annoying when companies bring out a new game & have NO DLC!

E.g. Too Human

Too Human wasnt a hit, so it wouldnt of made sense to sell DLC. To be honest i would of said Mass effect as a game that lacks DLC

Oh and on subject of CoD5, the single player isnt brilliant but it does have it moments but none of these moments rise above those of Call of Duty: UO or CoD2 (only keeping to WW2 side of the franchise)

however CoD5 was a improvement on CoD3.

Why? I understand wanting more out of your purchase, but if they've already delivered on a quality product with tons of content, why should they spend more time on a project they've already completed and you've already bought when they could be working on making an entirely new product?

I made the mistake of trading in COD5 :(
i feel ashamed lmao

i played the new DLC for COD5 & its was MIIINNNNNTT!!!!!!!!!

getting it back tomorrow for the new DLC :D

I tried this one out and I agree wholeheartedly. Sad, sad day for gamers.

Ever compared to the barely-above-average Brother In Arms, WAW was a pile of scripted dung.

BIA was had a decent storyline. but multiplayer was terrible!! i was shocked by how crap it was!

Multiplayer wasn.t even worth trying - they should have spent more time making the single player better.

i agree with that the multiplayer side of BIA was the biggest downfall. but the singplayer campain i admit needed abit of online CO-OP mode....... Of something better than fighting by yourself!

I really like the single player of BIA (I've always been a fan of the series though) but didn't even try the multiplayer. Doesn't sound like I missed out on anything there!

Its a great shame though that activision has not released another map pack for Modern warfare, now i wonder how many units that would have shifted ( considering COD4 is still in the top 10 in the UK ! )
