Activision Blizzard has dated the release of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, the second expansion to its award-winning MMORPG World of Warcraft.
Wrath of the Lich King will be available in standard and special collector's editions at stores on November 13 in North America, Europe, Mexico, Argentina and Chile, and November 14 in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
The expansion will release in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau on November 18, while details of a China debut will be announced at a later date.
“We're looking forward to launching Wrath of the Lich King and finally giving World of Warcraft players a chance to take on Arthas and his minions," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment.
"Until then, we'll continue to refine and playtest the expansion content to make sure it provides a highly polished and entertaining experience."
PC-only Wrath of the Lich King, which requires the original World of Warcraft game, will be available in two packages. The standard edition will set gamers back $39.99, while a special collector's edition priced at $69.99 will release in select regions. The limited collector's edition package will contain a Wrath of the Lich King art book, an exclusive in-game pet, a behind-the-scenes DVD, the official soundtrack CD, a mouse pad and trading card game starter packs.
World of Warcraft has amassed a 10.9 million subscriber base since launching in November 2004.
