Dead Space 3 and Xbox 360 were the biggest selling software and hardware in the US for the month of February, according to the latest NPD data.
It’s the nineteenth straight month that 360 has topped the hardware sales charts. Average weekly sales were up on January’s figures, and Wii U and Vita showed sales boosts of 40% and 30% respectively. Total video game hardware sales at retail came to $244.2 million, down significantly on 2012’s equivalent figure of $382.9 million.
The software charts saw an overall year-on-year decline in unit sales of 30% compared to February 2012, though there were a similar number of new releases. Total video game software sales at retail amounted to $352 million in February 2013, compared to $484 million the previous year.
