[UPDATE: Added Microsoft UK comment]
Microsoft has confirmed the upcoming release of an Xbox 360 Game of the Year bundle for the US market.
Due for release in May, the limited edition package will contain an Elite Xbox 360 and copies of Halo 3 and Fable II for $399, the same price the 120GB Elite console usually retails for, Microsoft blogger Major Nelson revealed.
Edge has contacted Microsoft’s UK arm to ask if a similar bundle will be released in Europe.
"... We have not made any announcements on this bundle for Europe," was all a Microsoft UK spokesperson offered Edge in response to our request for comment on a similar European offering.
I just want that does not come with the bonus red ring.
Perfect timing. 1 month before Sony inevitably reduces the PS3 by $100 bucks. Grab some on-the-fencers before they even know about a price cut.
tell us more of this PS3 price cut in June, please.
If this bundle has a confirmed Jasper Elite, I'll be picking this up. I already have both games, but it'll be good to give them to friends who might not have them.
Definitely a very good pair of games to get thrown in when buying a 360 for the first time. It's a bit surprising that those games were packed in, Fable 2 probably has some steady sales in its future and Halo 3, like the other Halos is probably still one of the most common games people pick up when buying a 360. Looks like they're trying to get customers that would've bought the $299 "Pro" model with games, to get the Elite instead.
And I just got stuck with Lego Indiana Jones + Kung Fu Panda...
