Xbox 360 sales have reached ten million across Europe, the Middle East and Africa in four years, Microsoft has announced.
The platform holder also said that Xbox 360 is the only console to achieve year-on-year growth across the region this year, based on figures from sales monitor GfK Chart-Track. Additionally, Microsoft research has found that 35 per cent of Xbox customers are women and 64 per cent are over the age of 25.
“Reinventing entertainment through, play, watch, connect and share. This is the vision that we have for Xbox 360 and today that vision is the reality for ten million Xbox owners,” said Chris Lewis, vice president of Microsoft Europe’s Interactive Entertainment Business.
I wonder how many of 360 sales are because people have had to buy new consoles after theirs broke...
"...or got banned from Live" is the rest of that sentence.
you say it like its a bad thing these people got banned
Don't get me wrong—I'm not denying Microsoft's right to ban these people or general, obvious wrongness of piracy/cheating; I'm just shining a light on the fact that Microsoft has obviously used the breadth and timing of this recent ban as a tactic to goose sales. More power to them.
quite probably, but hey thats business
Good on Microsoft but was most shocking is that the DS has sold more than 10 million in the **UK** alone....
