Yakuza Creator Reveals Binary Domain

Producer and creator of the Yakuza series Toshihiro Nagoshi has outlined his in-development 360/PS3 project, Binary Domain.

Speaking to Famitsu, Nagoshi says the game is “set in Tokyo, in the year 2080. As you can see in the pictures I'm releasing, the core of the story is centered around humans battling robots. I'll save the explanation for why they're fighting for another time, but essentially robots have become the world's main industry, and robots have become an integral part of everybody's daily life."

In terms of gameplay, Nagoshi says that “great drama and action is a core concept of this game, and with our high technical skill, we're aiming to make it something that appeals worldwide. One thing I want to make very clear, though, is that we're a Japanese studio making this, and the game will not be turning its back on Japanese gamers content-wise."

“The AI driving the robots fighting the player is at a higher level than anything before," he added. "That, and we're devoting all our efforts to making online play as fun as possible. We're putting daily research into producing the highest-level AI on the robots as we can fit into current-gen game consoles”.

Today Sega revealed the official trailer for Binary Domain, accompanied by a message from Nagoshi stating that the Yakuza development team are behind  the game.
