If I was given a £1 every time someone brought up the story about Nintendo and Sony with the PlayStation... Read a book called Game Over by David Sheff. Everything in the book is official so you'll read the full and true story. And did anyone know that the Sega Mega CD/Sega CD was made by Sony? As for Ken Kutaragi, he messed up the PS3 launch, who cares? Look at how many mistakes Nintendo made (Virtual Boy for one...).
I've never really rated Ubisoft. Assassin's Creed was one of the most boring games I've ever played, and Far Cry 2 was poor. They're now milking Splinter Cell... Can't say they've ever knocked out a classic.
The Wii has something like 100 games, most of them are rubbish or average. I think Nintendo hasn't really supported it which is a trend as they did the same with the N64 and GameCube. Gamers want new games, not so much sequels or remakes. But what does surprise me is that there's no Wave Race or Pilotwings to name a few. The only game I rate on the Wii is Mario Kart and even that wasn't as good as the GameCube version.
The Getaway was OK, but the second one was terrible. Oddly, it looked far worse than the first one when usually with sequels, you see an improvement with the graphics. But I found the control and the pace of the first one to be quite poor.
If games and movies don't develop some mutual respect, all we can expect are films that are really bad action games and games that are really bad films, says Steven Poole.
