Read the links provided by Wall_E below... or pretty much any other website that has the full press release from Krazy Kaz. They're saying the online gaming component will remain free but they will "add" premium services to PSN.
As I've said in the past, as long as the core online gaming remains free, it's all good, which according to every other game site is what they've said.
EDIT: As posted above.
Can't imagine what premium services they would offer though?
Maybe thats the delay behind X-game chat, they want to charge for it. -lol-
Maybe a video store subscription service or similar? That would be cool, their own version of netflix.
Silly to bring up other HW failures though, just because you experienced failures doesn't make it comparitive I'm afraid.
The failure rate of the 360 was huge and unacceptable compared to any console regardless of your personal experience. I have a day of release PS2, and it works fine.
Yes they had problems, but the failure rates don't even remotely compare. Stating otherwise is just burrying your head in the sand, I'm sorry.
I'm not trying to awkward, the statistics are easily obtainable.
Regardless, as I said above, we still wouldn't be where we are today without MS in the game. Maybe they should get someone else to design their HW for them net time. They are a SW company after all.
Well said, I couldn't agree more, although the failure rate is unaceptable, without MS entering the ring, the current gen wouldn't be anywhere near where it is now.
This is the good thing about having several competitors close to one another, they push each other along and make things better for us.
This is why I can never understand the "I hope MS/Sony/Nintendo drop out of the console market" stuff you read. Yeah, that would be great, things wouldn't go stale. Honest.
The positive changes MS have brought to the table have been software though.
I'm thinking even MS won't be wanting to release HW like this again themselves tbh.
Hey man, hope you come back. You, Ozzman, Kenology, Ezacharyknight, grognard, blueman, 4th variety, and a few others I can't think of their names right now are some of the posters that I appreciate being on here and look forward to their posts. I understand it's had to get past all the fanboy crap and the childish behaviour, but the less of you there are on there the even harder it is to come back to these forums. I took about a 2 week break thinking when I came back it'd be different, but it's probably actually a bit worse now so I don't blame you for not feelin these forums. Later bro,
If games and movies don't develop some mutual respect, all we can expect are films that are really bad action games and games that are really bad films, says Steven Poole.

Exactly! It's done with now, but i'm thinking it's not something they'd like to repeat again any time soon.
Nick, Amen to that, lets hope this never happens again to anyone, lets be honest, in the end it's the consumers that lose out! PS. You got a PS3 yet?
